Billing items are features in Carepatron that allow you to track and manage the services you provide to your clients. Each billing item represents a specific service or product you provided to a client and can be invoiced or added to claims for reimbursement.
Please note that the insurance claims feature is not yet available in Carepatron.
How do billing items work?
When you create an appointment in Carepatron, billing items are automatically created for each service you provided during the appointment. Billing items are also created for non-appointment services or products that are added to invoices.
What are the benefits of using billing items?
Improved accuracy: Billing items help to ensure that you are accurately tracking and billing for the services you provide or adjustments you’ve made.
Increased efficiency: Billing items can help you streamline your invoicing process by easily rolling multiple items onto a single invoice.
Additional flexibility: For group appointments, or appointments with multiple clients, billing items can be adjusted for each attendee.
How do I create a billing item?
Billing items are automatically created and updated for any services added to the appointment but can also be adjusted individually.
To adjust a client’s individual billing items
Open the appointment modal
Select the client attendee to view the individual attendee details
Adjust a billing items units, price or tax under the billing details.
How do I invoice billing items?
Individual billing items for an appointment can be invoiced from the appointment view by clicking create invoice.
Multiple uninvoiced billing items for a client can be added to a single invoice when creating an invoice from the client profile.
Open the clients profile and choose the Billing tab
Click New > Invoice
Select all the billing items you want to invoice
Click Create
Tips for using billing items
Carepatron will prompt when invoicing if clients have uninvoiced amounts to help you get paid.
Multiple billing items can be added to a single invoice. Use this to send an invoice for multiple upcoming services in one go.
Billing items will track changes to prices, even after invoicing! Use this to bill for adjustments or to issue credit notes if clients have already paid.
