The 10-minute countdown timer helps keep group video calls stable and predictable on the Free and Essential plans, especially when there are three or more participants (including the host), when using the Careptron video call feature.
In this guide, we will cover the following:
Note: This timer is not an indicator of how long a session should last. It simply reflects the time limit for group calls on Free and Essential plans.
Creating a group call in the Free and Essential Plan
On the Free and Essential Plans, you can still schedule one-on-one client sessions using Carepatron video conferencing with no time limit. If you set up recurring group appointments, you will now see a prompt to upgrade.
Adding two or more clients to a call will also trigger an upgrade prompt.
What if I want to set up a quick group call on the Free or Essential Plan?
You can, as long as the call stays within the 10-minute limit. Simply share the call link with the other participants.
What does the video call countdown timer look like?
The timer starts only when three or more people are in the call and is not shown for calls with fewer than three participants. Participants may join after the timer has started, but the timer does not reset for late joiners. Once the timer reaches zero, the call ends automatically.
Note:
The timer does not affect recording or other call features. However, it should stop the AI Scribe when the meeting ends. If a call ends when the timer reaches zero, participants can rejoin using the same link, which restarts the call loop from the beginning.
The countdown timer, when started, will have a green background color.
The countdown timer background color will change to yellow for a warning.
The countdown timer background color will change to red for the critical time.
When the timer runs out, the group call ends, and you will see a message that says, “You’ve reached your time limit.” From there, you can either return to the workspace or upgrade your plan.
On your client's end, they will be notified that the call ended.
Note:
If you upgrade during a call using the dialog box prompt, the timer will disappear. You will see a notification confirming that your account has been upgraded.
