We've improved client search so you can now find clients faster using a wider range of information. In addition to names, search now works across many more client fields, including any custom fields you've defined for your practice.
What's changed
Client search now works across the following fields:
All name fields (First name, last name, preferred name, and more)
All phone numbers (Mobile, home, work, and any additional numbers on the client record)
All addresses
Email
Business name
Occupation
Search helper
When you click into the client search bar, a search helper now appears. This gives you a quick reminder of the fields you can search across, making it easier to find clients even when you only have partial information.
How to search for a client
Navigate to the Clients section from the left-hand menu.
Click into the search bar at the top of the client list.
A search helper will appear, showing you the fields you can search across.
Type any piece of information you know about the client — their name, phone number, email, address, or the value of any custom field.
Results will update automatically as you type.
Click the client's name to open their record.
Custom field search
This is the highlight of the update. If you have created custom fields for your practice, for example, a field called "Client number," the values stored in those fields are now fully searchable.
Example: If a client has "0001" entered in a "Client number" custom field, typing "0001" in the client search bar will surface that client in the results.

Do I need to do anything to enable this?
No. The improved search is available to all users automatically. No configuration required.
Are custom fields searchable for all clients or only new ones?

Can I search across multiple fields at once?
Yes. A single search query will match against all supported fields simultaneously, so you do not need to know which field contains the information you are looking for.
