Differences between Clients and Contacts
Differences between Clients and Contacts
Updated over a month ago

As you might have already noticed, your Carepatron Workspace has both Clients and Contacts, and as you might be thinking, there is a difference between the two within the workspace. Below, we'll go over these differences and show exactly what each type of profile consists of.

Clients

Clients are your patrons, they are the patients that you will be providing service for and whose information, documentation, appointment history, billing, etc. can be managed through your Carepatron workspace. These clients are who you schedule appointments with, they have access to their upcoming appointments as well any documentation shared with them through their Client Portal, and you can also add tags and change their status as a lead to ensure proper lead management.

Contacts

On the other hand, contacts are not necessarily paying clients or patients, they are people that could be related to the client, or another practitioner you usually refer patients to, or received referred patients from, a client's parent, or spouse, etc. Contacts have limited capabilities compared to clients, their information is not stored as a client's is in the client record, there are no tags or statuses to keep track of or modifying.

Management of these contacts is much simpler, therefore, you'll notice a much more simplified view of their profile, compared to a client's profile.

We highly recommend exploring all the capabilities available in your Carepatron workspace when managing clients by using the test client and contact profiles provided for you when first signing up to Carepatron, to fully understand how these profiles differ.
