The External Templates feature allows you to create and share customizable public documents based on their templates. These templates can be shared as direct links, embedded as iframes, or displayed as customizable buttons on websites. Clients can view and submit responses based on your configuration.
Key Features
Share templates as external document: You can create shareable documents from existing templates.
Verification options:
Never: No verification code is sent.
Existing: A verification code is sent only to existing clients.
Always: A verification code is sent to both existing and non-existing clients.
Workspace Branding (⭐ Requires "Brand_personalized" subscription feature module):
Apply custom branding (logo + theme color) to external document.
Remove the "Powered by Carepatron" footer.
Flexible sharing formats:
Direct link: Share a public link to the template.
Inline iframe: Embed the template directly into a website.
Button embed: Customize the button display and embed it as a click-to-action button.
Client Interaction:
Clients can view and submit responses to the external template.
Creating an External Template
You can generate a public document from a template, allowing others to view, fill, and submit it.
Steps to get there:
Navigate to the Templates section.
Hover over the template you’d like to use and click the three dots (⋯) to view more actions.
Select "Share as Public Form" from the dropdown menu.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the sharing process.
Configure Verification Option:
Never: No verification code is sent.
Existing: A verification code is sent to existing clients only.
Always: A verification code is sent to all clients, including non-existing ones.
Configure Customization Options:
Apply Workspace Branding (⭐ Requires "Brand_personalized" subscription feature module)

Select a Sharing Format:
Direct Link: Generate a shareable public link to the template.
Inline Iframe: Obtain an embed code to integrate the template directly into a website.

Viewing External Templates
Read-Only External Template:
You can create a read-only document from a template.
Read-only templates do not include client information fields or submission options.
These templates can be used for informational purposes only.
Submittable External Templates:
You can create a submittable document from a template.
These themplates include input fields for client information and a submission button.
Clients can fill out and submit responses as needed.
